19.5x23.5 Latex paint on recycled paper pellets on framed canvas board, 2014
I really wanted to get as thick in texture as I could, and my materials were limited. I looked around my studio, my house, and at my budget and found what I felt was the most exciting material I could afford to work with. My spoiled cats upgraded to a new crystal litter and the bag of eco friendly materials they rejected was sitting unused in my home. It was recycled paper, simply packaged as kitty litter, but I wasn’t put-off. I drenched the pellets in paint and off I went into experimenting with how to make this rejected material a beautiful display. It resulted in this piece, playfully titled by its medium, but really, its just recycled paper.
